At age 65, many people are thinking about retiring and traveling or relaxing after years of work. I decided to begin my Masters of Practical Theology at Winebrenner Theological Seminary. Keep in mind that the closest thing I had to any undergraduate theology was Vacation Bible School when I was around 10 years old.
I enjoyed my work life and certainly enjoy family time, but I have felt as though something was missing for years. I tried to fill that void with martial arts – and have been very successful at it. I was honored with a Renshi (Master teaching credential) by one of the country’s most respected martial artists (Hanshi Kevin Cullen) and was inducted into the Martial Arts Masters Hall of Fame and the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors. Even with all that, something was missing. I made a last minute decision one year ago to work on my Masters of Practical Theology. It was one of the best decisions of my life. Part of me wishes I had started this journey much sooner, but the rest of me understands the timing was right – right now.
I plan to take anyone interested along with me on this journey – through my blog. I hope you find it as encouragement for you to find passion in your life.
